FIELD: video data processing technologies.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is proposed to ensure low end-to-end latency when encoding/decoding video content. This result is achieved by identifying payload packets that belong to the ROI. The ROI packets are sandwiched between payload packets relating to the image of the corresponding access unit, a sequence of packets in the video data stream, with each ROI packet referring to one or more subsequent payload packets in the sequence of packets following the corresponding ROI packet, and identifying whether portions encoded in any of one or more payload packets to which the corresponding ROI packet belongs, the region of interest of the video content.
EFFECT: ensuring low end-to-end latency when encoding/decoding video content.
