FIELD: devices based on cable robot.
SUBSTANCE: to catch falling objects, an object catching system based on a cable robot contains four supports, in the upper part of which there are rollers along which the cables move; in the lower part of the supports there are electric motors for controlling the cables, which, through software control, provide nonlinear viscoelastic characteristics of the oscillatory system, as well as movement of the captured object along the vertical axis during the damping of system oscillations, the robot's mobile platform is fixed on cables and is movable mainly along the vertical axis. Woven material is used as a robot platform. Surface of the mobile platform has the surface profile of a concave elliptical paraboloid.
EFFECT: catching system based on cable robot is proposed.
