FIELD: aviation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for warning about the danger of a collision between an aircraft and an air object. To implement the method, a given sector of space in the front hemisphere is irradiated from the aircraft, the radiation reflected from the airborne object is received, the direction to the object and the distance to it relative to the aircraft are determined, the straight flight of the aircraft is continued, and after a specified time the sighting angle of the airborne object and distance to it is re-measured. If the value of the re-measured range exceeds the previous one, then the aircraft’s own speed is additionally measured, the angle of sight of the aircraft relative to the air object and the speed of the air object are calculated, the degree of danger of a collision between the aircraft and the air object is determined by calculating the permissible safe approach distance and the time until it is reached, the crew is warned about the danger of a collision between the aircraft and an airborne object and offered to turn the aircraft away from the airborne object before this time expires.
