FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the biological processing of organic waste using insect larvae with the possibility of obtaining environmental fertilizer for agricultural crops. A method of processing food and organic waste by larvae of the Hermetia Illucens fly to produce vermicompost includes colonization of the substrate with larvae of the Hermetia Illucens fly, bioconversion of the substrate and separation of the biomass of the larvae from the processed substrate. Food and organic waste are pre-crushed and mixed into homogeneous biomass, which is heat treated by autoclaving at a temperature of 120°C for at least 30 minutes, then the prepared substrate is populated with Hermetia Illucens fly larvae, 3–5 days old, at the rate of 7–10 individuals per 1 cm2 of substrate.
EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of waste treatment by Hermetia Illucens fly larvae, increasing the disinfection rates of food and organic waste to produce humus with high quality characteristics.
