SUBSTANCE: invention relates to complex germanium compounds containing an acyclic polyol and a polybasic carboxylic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, as well as optionally a basic amino acid, of general formula (I): Ge[L]_a[С]_b[A]_c (I), where L is an acyclic polyol of the general formula (HOCH₂[CH(OH)]_nCH₂OH), where n = 2, 3 or 4; C is a polycarboxylic acid selected from the group consisting of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid and succinic acid, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; A is basic amino acid; a is an integer from 1 to 4 inclusive, b is an integer from 1 to 2 inclusive, c is an integer from 0 to 3 inclusive, and the sum of a + b + c is less than or equal to 6. The following is also proposed: a method of producing a complex germanium compound, a composition for dental and oral hygiene or for the prevention and/or treatment of diseases of the teeth and oral cavity, containing an effective amount of a germanium complex compound and at least one acceptable target additive or auxiliary substance, and use of the complex compound germanium for the manufacture of products for dental and oral hygiene or for the prevention and/or treatment of diseases of the teeth and oral cavity.
