FIELD: securities processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system and method for processing securities, in particular banknotes. The system contains: at least one processing device (10), configured to process, in particular separating, transporting and/or checking, securities with a given processing speed (R) and feeding them, respectively, into one of at least two bundling devices (23, 33); at least two wrapper devices (23, 33), configured to bundle (B) at least one stack formed by securities fed by the corresponding wrapper device (23, 33), wherein each wrapper device (23, 33) is characterized by maximum bundling speed (B1max, B2max), indicating the maximum number of securities that can be bundled in the corresponding bundling device (23, 33) per unit of time; and a control device (15) configured to set the processing speed (R) based on i) the maximum bundling speeds (B1max, B2max) of the bundling devices (23, 33) and ii) at least one frequency parameter characterizing the statistical frequency of the distribution of securities on the bundling devices (23, 33).
