FIELD: continuous casting of metal.
SUBSTANCE: mould control system contains a mould (102) with a hole for receiving molten metal (106) and a lower block lowered during casting, a chute for feeding metal into the mould, a water source for supplying water into the mould, a diverter for draining water from ingot parts, chamber (110) and controller (112). The camera's field of view includes the portion of the ingot from which water has been drained. The controller includes a processor that executes instructions stored on a computer-readable medium in a storage device. The camera receives or detects the optical data of the moulds and sends it to the controller. The controller compares the optical data with the base profile, determines whether the ingot has separated from the lower block, and the height of the separation. Then, based on the specified separation, it generates operating commands to regulate the casting process.
EFFECT: enables control and regulation of the casting process.
