The aerosol generating system contains an aerosol generating device, a cartridge containing a liquid agent, the cartridge being removably connected to the aerosol generating device, and an aerosol generating product. The aerosol generating device includes a cavity for housing an aerosol generating article containing an aerosol generating substrate, and a heating element configured to heat the aerosol generating article placed in the cavity. The heating element contains a compartment wall, wherein the first part of the compartment wall is located in the cavity, and the second part of the compartment wall extends beyond the cavity, and the second part of the compartment wall is configured to interact with the cartridge.

EFFECT: possibility of using different aerosol generating substrates, providing different temperature zones in the aerosol generating device, and ease of connecting the aerosol generating device to the cartridge.
