FIELD: measurement; oil, gas and coke-chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for determining gas content in broken coal. Method involves measurement of the seam thickness, output of volatile substances contained in coal, as well as measurement of the volume of coal destroyed by the miner when driving in the plane of the seam. Mode of measuring intensity of gas release from the mine working is carried out from the beginning of the time of coal destruction by the combine till the time of its shutdown. Thereafter, intensity of gas release from the mine working is measured at the moment of coal removal from the mine working. Duration of removal of broken coal and its weight volume are also measured. Measuring chamber is equipped, its area is measured "in light". Also, the air flow rate is measured, after which the flow rate of the gas-air mixture released from the working and the percentage content of gas in it are determined. Gas content in broken coal is determined in connection with percentage content of volatile substances output.
EFFECT: improving accuracy of determination of gas content in broken coal in process of contact with the studied coal bed of various degree of metamorphism in terms of output of volatile substances.
