METHOD FOR VAGINAL DEFECT REPAIR AFTER EXCISION OF LOCAL TUMOR RECURRENCE WITH URETHRAL RESECTION IN CERVICAL CANCER OR UTERINE CANCER Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B17/42 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to surgical gynaecological oncology. Vaginal defect repair is performed as shown in Fig. 1, during which the vaginal defect angles are assembled in 3 stages from the distal to the proximal edge relative to the urethra. Interrupted sutures with distance between knots of 3 mm are used. At 1st stage, the edges of the vaginal defect are matched with interrupted sutures from the periphery to the centre in the direction from the distal to the proximal edge of the vaginal defect relative to the urethra, and the wound is closed in layers. At 2nd stage, the formed triangular defect of the postoperative wound is closed successively with interrupted sutures of Vicryl 2.0 suture from the distal to the proximal edge until the defect is levelled at the level of the lower edge of the resected urethra. At 3rd stage, the urethra is closed with Vicryl 3.0 suture and the mucous membrane of the lower edge of the resected urethra is compared with the mucous membrane of the anterior vaginal wall.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to perform plasty of an extensive defect of the vaginal wall, to avoid tension of vaginal tissues, development of postoperative complications associated with rupture of tissues and their infection, and also prevents formation of urethral stricture, reduces risk of postoperative purulent-septic complications; reduces postoperative complications, time of postoperative rehabilitation of patients.
