FIELD: fire-fighting equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to fire extinguishing compositions containing condensed and gaseous chemically active substances in combustion products to suppress fires in closed spaces. The pyrotechnic fire extinguishing composition for volumetric fire extinguishing contains potassium nitrate as an oxidizer and iditol as a flammable binder. The composition also contains melamine as a flame retardant and potassium salt of 5-aminotetrazole. Component ratio, wt.%: potassium nitrate 67-72, iditol 11-13, melamine 20-17, potassium salt of 5-aminotetrazole, over 100% 1-5.
EFFECT: scope of application of the pyrotechnic fire extinguishing composition is expanded by minimizing the content of toxic and corrosive substances in the aerosol; during storage, the composition retains its physical characteristics within the required limits and is chemically resistant.
