FIELD: organic chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing tertiary alcohols of general formula (1):
of interest as starting synthons for the creation of biologically active compounds for medical purposes and the creation of photoresistant coatings. The method involves the interaction of aryl olefins with ketones in an argon atmosphere in the presence of a catalyst Cp2ZrCl2, an aluminum derivative, magnesium powder, in tetrahydrofuran, at 20°C, atmospheric pressure, for 8 hours. Aluminum chloride AlCl3 is used as an aluminum derivative, Ar-CH=CH2 compounds are used as aryl olefins (Ar = Ph, o -, p -methylphenyl, 4-tert -butoxyphenyl, naphthyl), and the compounds R'COR'' as ketones, (where R'=Me, Bu, R''= Me, Et, Bu, Hex, Hep, c -Bu, i -Bu). Arylolefin molar ratio: AlСl3: R'COR'': Mg: [Zr] = 1:2:1:2:0.1.
EFFECT: production of target products in high yield using cheap, easy-to-use AlCl3.
