FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of organic chemistry, in particular to a novel process for the preparation of 3-alkyl(phenyl)-2,5-diphenyl-1H-pyrroles of interest as starting synthons for the creation of biologically active compounds for medical and agricultural purposes, showing antimicrobial, antiviral, antifungal, antitumoral, analgesic properties. Method consists in the interaction of terminal acetylenes with a 2-fold excess of benzonitrile, 2.5-fold excess of ethyl aluminum dichloride (EtAlCl2), in the presence of magnesium, a catalyst Cp2TiCl2 and BF3⋅Et2O at room temperature and atmospheric pressure for 6 hours.
EFFECT: yield of 3-alkyl(phenyl)-2,5-diphenyl-1H-pyrroles (1) is 55–78 %.
