FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ballistic installations of high-speed throwing. To fire a shot from the ballistic installation , the piston and plunger of the installation are filled with working fluid. Pressure in the piston chamber and the cylinder of the plant housing is reduced until a critical breaking stress occurs between the piston and the plunger. Oxidizer is fed into the cylinder to form a fuel mixture and to increase the speed of the piston and plunger. Formation of cavitation bubbles in working fluid is provided. Providing gas cavitation in working fluid. Adiabatic compression of gases formed as a result of gas cavitation is performed. Fuel mixture is ignited by energy of said compressed gases to create pressure of throwing gas. Throwing gas pressure is used to fire the shot.
EFFECT: creation of high degree of energy concentration at impact gas compression and increase of projectile muzzle velocity without increase of maximum pressure of throwing gas acting on ballistic installation.
