FIELD: polyimide foams.

SUBSTANCE: method has been proposed for producing heat-resistant structural polyimide foam with an apparent density of 35 - 200 kg/m3 and a stress at 10% compressive strain of 0.3-3.0 MPa, by block copolymerization of acrylonitrile with methacrylic acid in the presence of foaming additives, an initiator system and crosslinking agents at 30°C for 25-150 hours, followed by additional polymerization of the resulting prepolymer at 100°C for 6-12 hours and foaming at a temperature of 185-195°C for 3-8 hours.

EFFECT: high physical and mechanical properties in a wide range of densities of polyimide foam.
