FIELD: chemical or physical processes; production process.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing polyacrylamide foam plastics used in molded articles, particularly in rocket science, shipbuilding, automotive industry, as well as in medical equipment. Described is a method of producing foamed cross-linked polymers based on a composition of a mixture of polyacrylamide (PAA), maleic anhydride (MA) and oxalic acid (OA). To obtain an article from a powdered composition, a foam plastic blank is molded for 15 minutes at temperature of 100 ± 5 °C and pressure of 15–20 MPa. Then the press plates are cooled together with the workpiece to room temperature. Foaming and hardening of the foam plastic workpiece is carried out in a semi-enclosed volume in a mold according to a predetermined mode: foaming and curing at temperature of 230–270 °C for 1–3 hours, followed by curing of the foam plastic at temperature of 150–200 °C for 1–3 hours.
EFFECT: technical result is high physical and mechanical properties of foam plastic in combination with improved operational properties.
