FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of PMI-foam materials. method of producing foam material based on poly(meth)acrylimide involves polymerisation of a mixture, containing (meth)acrylonitrile, (meth)acrylic acid, diol, at least one initiator and at least one foaming agent to form a plate or powder which are foamed at temperature of 120–300 °C. Diol is ethylene glycol, 1,10-decanediol, beta-hydroxyalkyl amides, OH-telechelic polytetrahydrofuran, characterized by average molar mass of 500–8000 g/mol, or includes OH-telechelic polyolefins, polycarbonates, polyoxymethylenes, polyethylene glycols, polypropylene glycols, polyglycerols or polyesters, each of which is characterized by a molar mass of 200–10000 g/mol. Also described is use of poly(meth)acrylimide-based foam for making vehicles, wind turbines or sports equipment.
EFFECT: invention enables density adjustment at a given foaming temperature.
