FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compositions for producing polymethacrylimide foam plastic (PMI-foams) used in moulded articles, particularly in pipes, loudspeakers, antennae, X-ray tables, parts of machines, vehicles, rail vehicles, floating, air and space vehicles. Described is a method of producing expandable cross-linked polymers, characterised polymerisation of a mixture containing (meth)acrylic acid, (meth)acrylonitrile and diester of (meth)acrylic acid polyethylene glycol, where polyethylene glycol has molecular weight of at least 250 g/mol, in presence of a foaming agent and polymerisation agents at temperature from 150 to 250 °C. Also described are poly(meth)acrylamide foam plastic, layered material and moulded component.
EFFECT: technical result is high elongation in temperature range -60 °C to 200 °C in combination with markedly improved mechanical properties.
