FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: method of producing a homogeneous solid material in the form of particles based on urea, which contains elementary sulphur, wherein the method involves the following steps: (i) supplying molten base material based on urea and molten elemental sulphur and (ii) spraying the melt in a fluidised bed granulator by means of spraying means, wherein the spraying means comprise at least one spray nozzle operating at less than 2 bar, so that the melt solidifies into a homogeneous, solid urea-based particulate material containing solid phases of elemental sulphur therein; wherein the solid phases of elemental sulphur have a size determined by laser diffraction analysis and expressed as d90, less than 20 mcm, or, expressed as d50, less than 10 mcm, or, expressed as d10, less than 5 mcm; or 90% of the elemental sulphur phases have a size determined by analysis using an air jet sieve apparatus of less than 32 mcm; Note here that urea-based material is cured in fluidised bed granulator by layering. Homogeneous, solid material in the form of particles based on urea, containing finely dispersed phases of elementary sulphur in the base material based on urea and formed by a layering process, in which said phases of elemental sulphur have a size determined by laser diffraction analysis and expressed as d90, less than 20 mcm, or, expressed as d50, less than 10 mcm, or, expressed as d10, less than 5 mcm; or 90% of the elemental sulphur phases have a size determined by analysis using an air jet sieve apparatus of less than 32 mcm; and wherein the homogeneous, solid particulate material based on urea does not contain a surfactant. Fertilizer for supporting the growth of agricultural products on sulphur-depleted soil contains a homogeneous solid material in the form of urea-based particles. Animal fodder contains a homogeneous solid material in the form of urea-based particles.
