FIELD: metal processing.

SUBSTANCE: manufacture of complex shaped sheaths. Preparing and pressing processing is carried out with formation of spiral corrugations in the opposite direction on the inner surface of the workpiece in two operations. Then crimping is carried out with preliminary operation of recrystallization softening annealing and phosphating. An anti-friction surface-active fluorine-containing coating is applied to the working surfaces of the deforming tool. In the process of forming grooves and crimping the workpiece, a fluorine-containing lubricating emulsion based on industrial oil is used. Crimping is carried out in four operations with intermediate operations of recrystallization softening annealing and phosphating and a crimping coefficient in each operation of at least 0.7. The crimping coefficient at each subsequent operation exceeds the crimping coefficient at the previous operation by 2-3.6%.

EFFECT: ability to obtain shells with high dimensional accuracy, high quality of the machined surface, and also increase the wear resistance of the working surfaces of the deforming tool and manufacturing productivity.
