FIELD: various technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of processing rubber wastes and can be used in industry to obtain a valuable product from wastes of rubber material — metal cord. Method involves recycling of industrial rubber wastes by pyrolysis with extraction of pure metal cord, carbon residue in the form of fuel briquette or sorbent for industrial water treatment. Method is carried out by four-step processing, namely thermal decomposition in an oxygen-free medium at temperature of 500–600 °C. After that, twists are machined in a drum ball mill. Then magnetic separation of rubber crumb from small particles of metal cord and the last stage is pressing of metal cord in the form of twists and small particles separated during magnetic separation of rubber crumb.
EFFECT: reduction of energy costs, reduction of harmful emissions into the environment, preservation of quality characteristics obtained as a result of processing of products: metal cord and solid carbon residue, used as fuel briquette or sorbent for industrial water treatment, which has a favourable effect on their commercial properties and does not prevent use.
