FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of obtaining a potato plant with tetraallelic mutations in the coding region of EDR1 gene using CRISPR/Cas9 plant genome editing technology. The invention also relates to a potato plant with a nucleotide deletion in the coding region of EDR1 gene obtained by the method described above.
EFFECT: invention is effective for producing potato plants with a mutation in the coding region of EDR1 gene for the purpose of subsequent selection process and creation of new varieties resistant to biotrophic and hemibiotrophic pathogens.
