SUBSTANCE: invention relates in particular to the control of an infrared vertical sensor (IVS) of the Earth. To control the IVS sensor with auto-adjustment of the circular scanning angle, the scanning angle is changed from the initial position corresponding to the maximum value of the scanning angle, which eliminates the completion of auto-adjustment at the value of the scanning angle corresponding to the “false” completion of auto-adjustment.

EFFECT: reduction in the duration of IVS control for adjusting the output characteristics of the sensor.
