FIELD: various technological processes; transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to recovery and hardening of brake discs and drums. After turning, the restored surface is covered with metal ceramic powder “ПГ-10Н-01”, mixed with liquid glass, after which brake discs or drums are subjected to drying in furnace for 40 minutes at temperature of 120 °C, then brake discs or drums are restored and hardened by short-circuited arc method using copper-plated graphite electrodes with modes: current strength 150 A, voltage is 28 V, frequency of vibration of copper-plated graphite electrode is 75 Hz, after which brake discs or drums are subjected to machining to nominal dimensions, and in final operation electrospark method is performed with specified modes: current intensity is 130 A, vibration frequency of vibrator is 100 Hz, AC voltage on the vibrator coil is 42 V, DC voltage on the electric holder is 60 V.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to minimize thermal effect on reconditioned and strengthened brake discs or drums, to obtain working surface of brake discs or drums with specified physical and mechanical properties, which will allow to increase their service life.
