SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to diagnose kidney damage in children with vesicoureteral reflux (VUR). Urine is collected from patients, followed by analysis of the mass spectra of volatile organic compounds emitted by urine samples without preliminary sample preparation, using a laser mass spectrometer. When registering a set of 20 peaks in the mass spectra in the range from 42 to 287.1 m/z, given in Table 1 of the description, damage to the kidney parenchyma is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method provides the opportunity to increase the efficiency of diagnosing kidney damage in children with vesicoureteral reflux through mass spectrometric analysis of volatile organic compounds (volatome) in urine.
