FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and can be used in the electronics industry for manufacturing sealed magnetically controlled contacts (reed switches). Technical result is achieved by forming in the process of ion-plasma treatment on the contact surfaces of the reed switch a quasiperiodic structure of nitrided nano-projections in the form of cones (cone-like shape) 10–100 nm in height, with a base diameter of 0.5–1 mcm and a quasi-period of 1–2 mcm.

EFFECT: limiting the volume of mass transfer at each actuation and creating conditions on the surface of the coating that prevent the localization of erosion, stimulating its transition to the planar type.
