FIELD: radio electronics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio electronics and can be used to calibrate the receiving or transmitting radio-frequency (RF) path of the active phased antenna array (APAA) modules, which provides the formation of a beam pattern (BP) of a given shape by an electronic method and used in radar, communication systems, as well as for electronic countermeasures and electronic reconnaissance. Technical result is achieved by calibrating the receiving or transmitting RF path of the APAA module in one cycle using an automated system comprising a control computer, a vector circuit analyser, power supply, interface module (adapter) for transmission of control commands and recording of calibration data arrays into the module. During APAA operation, the calibration data arrays are used by the module control device to provide the specified characteristics as to the transfer coefficient and phase, as well as to measure the module output power. According to the proposed method, the following operations are performed automatically: phase calibration of the receiving or transmitting RF channel of the module; calibration of receiving or transmitting RF channel of module by output power.

EFFECT: increasing overall efficiency of APAA due to compensation of spread of parameters of each module during formation of specified APAA pattern, improvement of operational characteristics due to provision of modules interchangeability and absence of necessity to recalibrate APAA after repair.
