FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neurosurgery. After dissection of the dura mater, under the control of electrocorticography (ECoG) and ultrasound neuronavigation with the Philips CX50 apparatus, resection of the tegmentum of the insula of the inferior frontal gyrus of the brain and superior temporal gyrus of the brain is performed. Threshold of the islet is then visualized and the carotid cistern is opened. Next, a subtotal subpial resection of the short convolutions of the insula or a total resection of the short and long convolutions is performed with preservation of the perforating arteries of the branches of the M2 segment of the middle cerebral artery (MCA) approaching the inferior horn of the lateral ventricle through the inferior peri-insular sulcus of the insula. Then selective amygdalohippocampectomy is performed by resection of the tonsil and head of the hippocampus to the choroidal artery. The DM is sutured with a continuous suture. The bone flap is fixed in place. The wound is sutured in layers.

EFFECT: method allows to increase the efficiency of surgical treatment of temporal plus epilepsy, stop or reduce the frequency of epileptic seizures, improve cognitive, behavioral and emotional-volitional functions.
