SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in such areas as therapy, general medical practice, cardiology, functional diagnostics. A 12-channel ECG is registered and the electrocardiographic characteristic of the P wave — the time from the beginning of the descending limb of the first positive wave of the “p” wave (p1) to the beginning of the descending limb of the second positive wave of the “p” wave (p2) is assessed, if it is equal to or greater than 35 ms then there is the risk of developing atrial fibrillation.
EFFECT: expanding the range of technical means and simplification of the assessment of the conduction of excitation in the atria, which allows to increase the identification of patients at risk of developing atrial fibrillation, in order to carry out timely preventive measures for arrhythmogenic strokes.
