FIELD: environmental protection.

SUBSTANCE: composition for cleaning the surface of water from oil pollution and a method for producing it, and can be used in the waters where oil or petroleum products are spilled due to accidents and disasters during their production or transportation, to eliminate the latter and to clean the surface of water bodies from oil and petroleum products. A composition is proposed for cleaning the water surface from oil pollution, containing pentol in a mixture with one of the alcohols selected from isopropyl, isobutyl, and ethyl alcohol, in the following proportions, vol.%: pentol – 10-70; alcohol – balance. Also proposed is a method for obtaining a composition for cleaning the water surface from oil pollution by mixing the initial components, in which pentol and the selected alcohol are mixed at a temperature below the evaporation temperature of the selected alcohol with constant stirring with a paddle mixer at a rotation speed of 100-500 rpm until the mixture is homogeneous, then the stirring is stopped and the mixture is allowed to stand for the time necessary for the end of gas separation, to obtain the specified composition for cleaning the surface of the water.

EFFECT: increasing the environmental friendliness of the composition for cleaning oil pollution ("chemical shepherd") with the efficiency of removing pollution and cleaning both fresh and sea water.
