SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to cleaning of water surface from oil pollution. Disclosed are two-component composition for cleaning water surface from oil contaminants and a method of producing two-component composition. Two-component composition for cleaning water surface from oil contaminants – "chemical shepherd" contains an organosilicon surfactant – heptamethyltrisiloxane and a diluent – one of monoatomic alcohols selected from a series – isobutyl, isopropyl, ethyl, with the following ratio of components, vol.%: heptamethyltrisiloxane – 10-99.9; monoatomic alcohol – balance.

EFFECT: absence of toxicological effect on the biota of the affected water area, high efficiency of the composition, which is manifested in reduction of the area and increase in the thickness of the oil/oil product film, and possibility of using the composition in a wide range of temperatures and salinity of water, as well as a simple method of preparing it.
