FIELD: medicine, laboratory diagnostics and hepatology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for early diagnosis of alcoholic liver steatosis in patients with alcohol dependence syndrome. The patient's blood serum photometrically determines the activity of glutathione peroxidase, µmol/(µmol/l/min), followed by recalculation of glutathione peroxidase activity, µmol/(µmol/l/min), according to the formula: , where E is glutathione peroxidase activity, µmol/(µmol/l/min); A is the difference between the extinction of the control and experimental samples; V r.s. is the volume of the reaction mixture is 2.05 ml; V pr. if the sample volume, ml; l is the optical path length of 1 cm; E is molar light absorption coefficient of NADPH at a wavelength of 340 nm, equal to 6.22⋅103 m-1⋅ cm-1 ; t is observation time 3 minutes. When the value of glutathione peroxidase activity is less than or equal to 16.1 µmol/(µmol/l/min), alcoholic liver steatosis is diagnosed in patients with alcohol dependence syndrome. If the glutathione peroxidase activity value is more than 16.1 µmol/(µmol/l/min), there is no alcoholic liver steatosis.
EFFECT: method provides the ability to reduce trauma, lack the risk of complications, accessibility, ease of execution with high sensitivity, specificity and efficiency, by determining the activity of glutathione peroxidase in the blood serum of an examined patient with alcohol dependence syndrome.
