FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to production of granulating water added during formation of pelletized product, and production of iron-ore pellets with addition of granulating water to iron ore during pelletizing. When producing granulating water, a polymer binder is mixed with water, note here that percentage of binder relative to water is defined so that granulating water satisfies preset viscosity defined by number of drops of green pellets. Reference value of the number of drops of green pellets is denoted by Dmin, times, and the number of drops of green pellets in the case of using water as the granulating water is denoted as D0, the given viscosity η, mPa · s, is described by the following formula: Dmin ≤ 0.676 × ln(η) + D0. Amount of polymer binding material is determined in accordance with the amount of water retained in the iron ore.
EFFECT: provides for easy determination of percentage content of polymer binding material in mixture of granulating water to obtain strength required for green pellets.
