SUBSTANCE: invention relates to iron ore pellets for use in a blast furnace. Porosity of iron ore pellets, which is due to large open pores having a pore size greater than or equal to 4 mcm, is greater than or equal to 21%, and iron ore pellets have crushing resistance greater than or equal to 180 kg/pellet. Content of fine fractions with grain size less than or equal to 4.7 mcm is greater than or equal to 8 wt.%. Iron ore pellets include aggregate structure of fine fractions.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce consumption of coke during operation of blast furnace.
