SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of optical control of rolling stock. In the method, the pre-trained neural network is launched in the cycle of image processing from the cameras to detect the specified elements of the car, detecting the required car elements, determining the car number, after which the obtained car number is queried into the car database, obtaining a list and the number of elements the presence of which must be monitored in a given car; further, by comparing this list with the compiled set, it is determined whether all the car elements to be controlled are found on the car images; if there are missing or inadequate elements, they are entered into the list of faults of this car.
EFFECT: enabling detection of missing elements of a freight car.
