FIELD: medicine; neurosurgery; maxillofacial surgery.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for staged surgical correction of craniosynostosis using titanium plates for the prevention of trophic skin disorders in children. At the first stage, bone modelling and fixation of bone flaps to the cranial vault with titanium plates is carried out. A haemostatic sponge soaked in physiological solution is placed on top of each titanium plate, covering the entire area of the titanium plate with it. Then each haemostatic sponge is fixed to the surface of the titanium plate, the sponge is dried with dry sterile gauze wipes.
EFFECT: reduction in the number of pyemic and trophic complications, improved healing of postoperative wounds during the second stage of surgical correction of craniosynostosis due to the fact that the haemostatic sponge, laid over the entire surface of the implant, is dried with a sterile gauze cloth, due to which the surface of the sponge is glued to the surface of the titanium plates.
