METHOD OF CONTOURING ABNORMAL ZONES ON RESULTS OF PERCUSSION TOMOGRAPHIC SCANNING Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B6/00

Abstract RU 2815435 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to X-ray diagnostics, and can be used to delineate a heart attack nucleus and a reversible injury zone. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain is carried out with the construction of a series of DWI images, on the basis of which ADC maps are constructed. On the transverse scans, a tissue area with known abnormal properties is selected as an area for which the curve of the accumulation and washout curve of the contrast agent differs from the normal one. Cerebral blood flow (CBF) and mean transit time (MTT) are determined on ADC maps. Threshold values of CBF and MTT are set for the infarction nucleus and the reversible lesion area: infarction nucleus area is defined as an area with a CBF value of less than 30% of the CBF of the mirror portion of the contralateral hemisphere, area of a reversible lesion is defined as an area with a CBF value less than the CBF of the mirror portion of the contralateral hemisphere by 2.2 times and the MTT value is greater than the MTT of the mirror portion of the contralateral hemisphere by 2.5 times. Image areas in which the symmetric brain areas with CBF and MTT values do not meet the threshold values of CBF and MTT for the infarction nucleus and the reversible injury area are excluded from consideration, and the remaining image area is delineated.

EFFECT: method provides higher accuracy and reliability of determining abnormal areas on MRI results by determining the axis of symmetry of the scanned area and analysing symmetrical parts of the tomogram.
