SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the effectiveness of chemotherapy in bladder cancer according to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). An MRI study is carried out on a high-field MRI scanner to obtain diffusion-weighted images with a b-factor of 50 and 800 s/mm2 with a slice thickness of 3 mm. Then, post-processing is carried out with segmentation of the tumor on the obtained scans along the intensity border and the formation of a three-dimensional reconstruction. The following is calculated: the coefficient K=L/x/C⋅1,000, where L is the distance from the tumor border to the border of the bladder wall along the tumor axis, x is the maximum diameter of the tumor along the border of the bladder wall, C is the average value of the diffusion coefficient in the entire volume of the segmented tumor. With a value of K<0.51, the negative effectiveness of chemotherapy is predicted. With a value of K≥0.51 and K<0.74, an uncertain efficacy of chemotherapy is predicted. With a value of K≥0.74, a positive efficacy of chemotherapy is predicted.

EFFECT: method provides an increase in the accuracy and information content of predicting the effectiveness of chemotherapy in bladder cancer by determining K coefficient.
