FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for determining the pot life and viscosity of polymer materials in a viscous-flow state under negative temperatures and can be used in the study of various polymer materials used in the repair of parts of transport-technological machines. Disclosed is a method for determining the pot life and viscosity of polymer materials under conditions of exposure to negative temperatures, which includes pouring samples into conical reservoirs arranged inside thermostatic jacket of installation, opening of channels connecting conical reservoirs with freezing chamber, in which the set negative temperature (0...−30 °C) is maintained, recording of time and distance, passed by gravity during this time by samples of polymer material on lines installed in freezing chamber and vertically oriented under reservoirs with fixation of process by means of video filming.
EFFECT: expansion of the range of measured properties and provision of possibility to perform measurements in conditions of negative temperatures.
