METHOD OF PRODUCING POLYVALENT VACCINE AGAINST EQUINE LEPTOSPIROSIS Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61K39/02 C12N1/20 

FIELD: biotechnology; veterinary microbiology; immunology.

SUBSTANCE: polyvalent vaccine against equine leptospirosis has been proposed, the said vaccine contains an active substance in the form of antigenic material from strains of inactivated Leptospira of the following five serological groups: Pomona, Tarassovi, Icterohaemorrhagiae, Grippotyphosa and Canicola mixed with adjuvant. Leptospira Grippotyphosa strains VGNKI-1, Leptospira Icterohaemorrhagiae VGNKI-2, Leptospira Tarassovi VGNKI-4; Leptospira Pomona VGNKI-6; Leptospira Canicola VGNKI-3 are used in an amount of 85% by weight with a concentration of each antigen of 1.0 million microbial cells/cm³. Montanide GEL-01 hydrogel adjuvant containing 15% by weight is used as an adjuvant.

EFFECT: vaccine against equine leptospirosis is safe, areactogenic and has high immunogenic activity, namely, after vaccination it allows to induce the production of antibodies against strains of Leptospira Grippotyphosa (VGNKI-1); Leptospira Icterohaemorrhagiae (VGNKI-2), Leptospira Tarassovi (VGNKI-4); Leptospira Romona (VGNKI-6); Leptospira Canicola (VGNKI-3) on the 21st day with the following titres 1:933, 1:400, 1:400, 1:1067, 1:533, respectively, on the 60th day after vaccination — with the following titres 1:1,600, 1:1,067, 1:1,067, 1:2,133, 1:1,067, respectively.
