FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of texturing of metal surfaces to impart superhydrophobic properties to them, having water-repellent properties, providing effective reduction of corrosion processes rate during operation of structures in various conditions, including in an atmosphere with high humidity, which are used to create self-cleaning surfaces and prevent icing of various parts of machines and structures, in particular, fixed inlet parts of gas turbine or air-jet engine of aircraft. Method involves preliminary determination of the required condition of hydrophobicity, successive coating of the surface with a layer of deionized water for protection against oxidation, exposing the surface to a focused beam of pulsed laser radiation with certain characteristics, providing the occurrence of surface electromagnetic waves in the melt, with variation of laser radiation intensity and pulse duration in nanosecond range. Spatial period of the relief of a variable scale in the nanometer range is determined from the relationship; the beam is displaced relative to the surface according to a predetermined law.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of imparting superhydrophobic properties to metal surface.
