FIELD: various technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of processing snow cover samples for microplastic analysis. Disclosed is a method of processing snow cover samples for analysis for microplastic, which includes taking a snow cover sample with a tool with a precisely known capture area, obtaining a saturated solution from the liquid phase of the sample of the snow cover of the sample by adding sodium chloride until complete saturation, separation of the saturated solution by density for 12 hours in a separating funnel, collection of the supernatant phase of the saturated solution and oxidation of organic residues for 24 hours by adding hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a catalyst, which is an aqueous solution of iron sulphate, prepared by adding to 500 ml of distilled water 7.5 g of iron sulphate and 3 ml of concentrated sulfuric acid. Hydrogen peroxide is added to the final concentration of 0.73% in presence of 150 mcl of the catalyst, sodium chloride is added to the supernatant phase until completely saturated and a secondary saturated solution is obtained, which is separated by density for 12 hours in a separating funnel, supernatant phase of the secondary saturated solution is collected and filtered under vacuum through a glass fibre filter with pore diameter of 1 mcm, which is dried in a laminar box for 30 minutes.
EFFECT: invention provides conditions for increasing the speed of the process of processing snow cover samples for analysis for microplastic, reducing the consumption of hydrogen peroxide, the results of which enable spectroscopic analysis of microplastic particles.
