SUBSTANCE: solid-phase technology for producing blanks from powdered polytetrafluoroethylene, in particular to cold uniaxial pressing, and can be used for manufacturing of blanks for various functional purposes. The method includes preparing a composite mixture, loading it into a mould, and pressing the workpiece. In this case, the composite mixture contains polytetrafluoroethylene and a functional additive, which is titanium carbide, in the following mass ratio: polytetrafluoroethylene - 99-99.5%, titanium carbide - 0.5-1%, the workpiece is pressed at the ambient temperature at a constant speed from 1 to 3 mm/min in a mould with a working diameter of 10 to 12 mm.

EFFECT: rationalization of the process of manufacturing compact blanks from powdered polytetrafluoroethylene by improving the process of cold uniaxial pressing of composite materials.
