FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing porous metals and can be used in catalytic chemistry for synthesis of carbon nanostructures, including carbon nanotubes, as well as in production of catalysts for obtaining intermediate compounds and end products of organic synthesis with high added value. Method of producing porous metal, alloy or pseudo-alloy includes preparation of powder of one organic salt or mixture of powders of two organic salts, selected groups of copper, nickel, iron, cobalt from a number of formates, oxalates, citrates, acetates of the listed metals in molar ratio in mixture from 0.1:1 to 1:0.1 and making tablets in a mold. Obtained pellets are placed into a quartz retort and then into an electric furnace blown with argon. Thermal treatment of tablets in a stream of hydrogen while heating from 20 °C at rate of 5–40 deg/min to a final temperature in range of 400–900 °C, wherein heating is stopped for 5–15 minutes at decomposition temperature of organic salts.
EFFECT: higher porosity and uniformity throughout the volume of laminar material.
