FIELD: various technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing drinking water from wood using a drying chamber. Method of producing drinking water includes a step of drying wood in a drying chamber with air heated to temperature of not more than 45 °C. Drinking water is obtained by condensation and subsequent cooling. Before the drying step, the unbarked wood is heated from the initial temperature to the drying temperature for 18–48 hours. Drying step is carried out at temperature of 33–45 °C for 100–450 hours. Temperature affecting the wood at the heating and drying stages is changed at a rate of not more than one degree per hour.
EFFECT: invention provides uniform heating of unbarked wood during its drying when producing drinking water.
