SIMONYAN'S VESTIBULOPLASTY METHOD Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B17/24 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to surgical dentistry and is intended for use in oral vestibuloplasty. Simonyan’s vestibuloplasty is performed as follows. Under infiltration anaesthesia, a horizontal incision is made from the vestibular side at a distance from the apex of the mucous membrane of the alveolar crest to the required depth, dissecting the mucous membrane and underlying muscle fibres. Incision is made linearly with the blade directed strictly perpendicular to the mucosa. Muscle fibres are split towards the apex of the alveolar crest to the periosteum. Further, the flap is split and displaced apically to the required depth. Apically displaced flap is fixed with interrupted sutures with a resorbable suture. Coronary flap is fixed to the periosteum as follows: a needle is pricked in from the vestibular side, then through the periosteum through the inner surface of the apically displaced flap to the outside. Further, resorbable supporting interrupted sutures are applied, which fix the apically displaced flap to the coronary flap in the apical-coronary direction.

EFFECT: by obtaining an attached gingival area and creating a soft tissue volume in the area of dental implants, the method enables to increase the attached gingival volume atraumatically without using an autograft.
