FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to investigation of mechanical properties of coatings, namely to methods of determining adhesion strength of a coating, and can be used to assess the quality of ion-plasma coatings. Test coating is applied on the surface of the metal plate, followed by bending through a given angle, and the adhesion strength of the coating is estimated from the results of its destruction. Plate is bent when the test coating is located in the inner side of the plate in the area of its compression during bending, using a plate with thinning, made by removing a part of the metal of the plate from its outer side in the zone of the expected deformation of the plate, with the wall thickness of the plate in the thinning zone hth, equal to hth = (0.3h - 0.7h), where h is plate thickness.
EFFECT: high accuracy of estimating adhesion of coatings.
