FIELD: electroplating.
SUBSTANCE: electrolytic deposition of iron coatings used to restore and harden the surfaces of steel parts. The method involves deposition of a composite coating from an electrolyte containing ferrous chloride, iron tool powder “ПР-10Р6М5”, hydrochloric acid and distilled water in the following ratio of components, kg/m3: ferrous chloride 350-400, iron tool powder “ПР-10Р6М5” 5-10, hydrochloric acid 0.5-2.0, at an electrolyte temperature of 273-333 K, a range of DC cathode densities of 10-60 A/dm2 and continuous stirring of the electrolyte with a mechanical stirrer.
EFFECT: obtaining smooth, shiny coatings with microhardness up to 9000 MPa.
