FIELD: electrolytic deposition of hard, wear-resistant coatings, particularly, iron-tungsten coatings applicable in restoration and hardening of part surfaces. SUBSTANCE: method includes deposition of iron-tungsten coating with use of alternating asymmetric current with 1.2-6 asymmetry coefficient, electrolyte temperature of 20-40 C, cathode current density 35-40 A/sq. dm, electrolyte pH 0.8. Electrolyte contains the following components, g/l: sodium tungstate, 2-10; ferrous chloride, 300-400; citric acid, 5-15; hydrochloric acid, 5-15. EFFECT: high microhardness and wear resistance of coatings produced from claimed electrolyte, and high coating deposition rate.
