FIELD: fibre-optic communication.

SUBSTANCE: in the Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) parameters optimization method of terabit class systems in heterogeneous fibre-optic communication lines (FOCL), comprising transmitter 1, multi-span FOCL 2 of N spans 10, where N is an integer of at least 2, at the end of each of which, with the exception of the last one, there is a linear optical amplifier 11, and receiver 2, measuring the losses in each of the spans and setting the calculated based on the measured losses of the optimal signal power at the output of the transmitter P and the optimal gain gk of the linear optical amplifiers, wherein the optimum values of the power of the signals at the output of the transmitter P and the gain gk are calculated using the additionally determined correlation coefficient of nonlinear noises of the line ε and nonlinearity coefficients of spans ηk.

EFFECT: increased range with preservation of FOCL operability, which widens the field of application of the method for optimization of parameters of DWDM systems of terabit class in heterogeneous FOCL, which can be used in information transmission systems without periodic compensation of dispersion.
